Former Panther Eddie Conway to Speak “at” Internationalist Books

An announcement from the Chapel Hill Prison Books Collective…

On Tuesday, October 12th, 6:45 SHARP, political prisoner and former Black Panther Marshall Eddie Conway will be speaking and reading from his new book “The Biggest Threat,” regarding COINTELPRO and the repression of social movements from the 60’s and 70’s. The event will take place at Internationalist Books, 405 W. Franklin St. Chapel Hill, NC.

He’ll be calling in directly from prison at 7pm sharp, so get there early to get seats and get oriented. Its an incredible opportunity to be able to host this kind of event LIVE from prison, so PLEASE get there on time! Copies of his book will be on sale, and donations to Conway’s legal fund will also be asked for.

Thanks!

Until Every Cage is Empty.

One Response to Former Panther Eddie Conway to Speak “at” Internationalist Books

  1. Unfortunately Cointelpro didn’t stop in the 1970s – at least not in Seattle. In 1981 the FBI collaborated with Marcos agents to gun down Filipino cannery workers and union organizers Domingo and Viernes. The in 1982-1985 they infiltrated and broke up CISPES twice. And from 1986 they viciously targeted white supporters of the campaign to create an African American Heritage Museum. Then in 1989 there was the African American postal worker and union organizer who was murdered, etc, etc. I write about all this in my recent memoir THE MOST REVOLUTIONARY ACT: MEMOIR OF AN AMERICAN REFUGEE (www.stuartbramhall.com). I currently live in exile in New Zealand.
